About us

Photographers first. Always.

Anayo is an independent studio of fourteen people who love making pictures — still and moving — and helping others make theirs.

Our story

Twelve years of weddings, stages, sets and studios.

At Anayo, everything we do begins with light and a moment that only happens once — and with the people standing in front of the camera. We treat every wedding, launch and portrait as if it were going on our own wall.

We started as wedding photographers, grew into film and commercial production, and opened our rental house because we wanted a place where working crews could get honestly maintained gear from people who actually use it.

Today our team covers more than 60 weddings and 100 commercial and event productions a year, while the rental floor supports hundreds of independent filmmakers and photographers across the Bay Area.

What we believe

Three rules we don’t break.

  • 01

    Light first

Every decision — lens, location, time of day — starts with where the light is and where it's going.

  • 02

    Quiet on set

We direct gently and disappear often. The best moments happen when people forget we're there.

  • 03

    Finish properly

Colour, sound and retouching get the same attention as the shoot. Delivery is where the work is judged.

The team

The people behind the lens.

A core team of fourteen, plus a trusted network of second shooters, gaffers and sound recordists we've worked with for years.

Milestones

From one bag to a full house.

  1. 2014

Founded in a shared warehouse in the Dogpatch with one camera bag.

  2. 2017

Opened the rental desk after lending our kit to friends one too many times.

  3. 2020

Moved to Harbour Street and built the cyclorama studio and grading suite.

  4. 2024

Added cinema camera packages and a full-time post-production team.

Kind words

Trusted by couples, brands & crews.

We barely noticed them all day, then the gallery arrived and we cried at every page. The film captured moments neither of us saw happen.

Amara & James

Wedding — Napa Valley

Anayo ran a three-camera shoot across two days with zero drama. The edit was on brand, on time, and our launch video outperformed every previous campaign.

Head of Brand, Arden Watch Co.

Their rental desk is the best in the city. Gear is spotless, fully tested, and they actually pick up the phone at 6am on a shoot day.
